Iran warns Houthis to prepare for Red Sea oil route shutdown
According to a Reuters report citing three separate sources, Iran has instructed Yemen’s Houthi rebels to be prepared to block the Red Sea oil transit route in the event that the United States targets Iranian energy infrastructure. An individual with ties to the Houthi movement confirmed that the group has finalized its plans to target maritime traffic, having already positioned drones and missiles in the vicinity of the Bab el-Mandeb strait, which serves as the entry point to the Red Sea.
