Indian startup Aheesa hits milestone with VIHAAN broadband chip

Aheesa, an Indian semiconductor firm supported by the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) scheme, has successfully completed the first-pass silicon testing for its 'VIHAAN' chip. This locally developed broadband processor utilizes the VEGA microprocessor architecture. The chip is intended for use in fibre broadband technology and is scheduled to enter production tape-out by 2027. According to government data, startups participating in the DLI program have secured more than $100 million in total funding.
