Indian flag raised at Times Square for 80th Independence Day
To celebrate India's 80th Independence Day, the national flag was unfurled at Times Square in New York. Consul General Binay Srikant Pradhan performed the flag-hoisting ceremony. The Indian Consulate noted that the Tricolour was displayed in the heart of New York at Times Square. Additionally, the Empire State Building was illuminated in the colours of the Indian flag on Saturday to commemorate the day.
