Indian Airbnb hosts see lower earnings as rental supply grows

Airbnb is becoming a less reliable way for Indian property owners to generate income due to a sharp rise in short-term rental listings, which has heightened competition. According to figures from AirDNA, the number of listings grew by 21% in Ahmedabad and 72% in Hyderabad year-on-year as of June 30, 2026. This influx of new properties has driven down average daily rental prices, putting pressure on host earnings and making it more difficult to achieve target profit margins.
