India reduces sugar storage limits for traders by half to prevent hoarding

Starting September 15, India is cutting the sugar stock limit for dealers from 4,000 quintals to 2,000 quintals to prevent hoarding and keep prices steady. This restriction will be in effect until November 30, and traders are prohibited from keeping stock for longer than 30 days. According to the government, this decision is intended to stop excessive stockpiling and maintain a smooth supply of sugar at fair rates.
