India issues alert after popular rabies vaccine fails quality inspection
According to a Reuters report, the CDSCO has issued a warning after a sample of Abhayrab—a rabies vaccine produced by Indian Immunologicals that accounts for 40% of the local market—did not pass a quality check. The drug regulatory body has instructed officials to keep a close watch on batch number KE25012 of the vaccine. Concerns regarding counterfeit products were raised after the sample showed inconsistencies in its licensing information, cap color, artwork, and labeling.
