India creates its first homegrown 350 kg thrust expendable turbojet engine
India has successfully built its inaugural domestic expendable turbojet engine, which falls into the 350 kg thrust category. This engine is intended for one-time use in systems such as cruise missiles, target drones, and various unmanned aerial vehicles. The project was developed by the Gas Turbine Research Establishment under the DRDO and produced by Azad Engineering. The engine was officially presented to Dr. K. Rajalakshmi Menon, who serves as the Director General of Aeronautical Systems.
