India clears only one Chinese FDI project of ₹1 crore for FY26
In the 2026 fiscal year, India gave the green light to a single Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) application from China, valued at ₹1 crore, highlighting ongoing strict oversight. Data from the DPIIT indicates that this was the only Chinese project approved out of 63 government-cleared FDI proposals, which totaled ₹10,292 crore for the year. Official records show that from April 2000 through March 2026, Chinese investments made up a mere 0.32% of the total FDI equity flowing into India.
