Following the devastating flash floods in Nepal that claimed more than 1,000 lives, India’s Ministry of External Affairs has stated that developed countries need to take the initiative in reducing emissions while offering financial and technological support to developing nations. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal reiterated India's commitment to the principle of climate equity. Meanwhile, Nepal's Foreign Minister clarified that Kathmandu has not requested any compensation from India, China, or the United States.
