India asks US to review planned 12.5% tariff over forced labour accusations
The Indian government has officially requested that the US rethink its plan to levy a 12.5% tariff on Indian exports. New Delhi has denied claims that it has not done enough to block goods produced through forced labour. Furthermore, India has expressed a willingness to hold discussions with the US Trade Representative (USTR) to resolve any particular issues. This tariff plan is currently not final.
