India and China restart trade operations through Nathu La Pass
On Saturday, India and China officially recommenced cross-border trade through the Nathu La Pass. This route was originally closed following the 1962 conflict between the two nations. Although it was reopened for commercial activity in 2006, operations were suspended again in 2020 because of the COVID-19 outbreak and escalating border friction. Historical records indicate that Nathu La has served as a segment of the ancient Silk Route for more than two millennia.
