The Income Tax Department has announced that over 1.7 crore income tax returns have been submitted for the 2025-26 fiscal year. With the deadline approaching, filing activity has picked up, including more than 10 lakh submissions recorded just on Friday. Individuals filing ITR-1 and ITR-2 forms are required to complete their filings by July 31.
