IIT Bombay researchers create AI tool for measuring flood levels
A team from IIT Bombay has introduced an AI-based technology designed to estimate water depth in flooded or waterlogged regions during intense rain. This accurate tool allows emergency teams to evaluate conditions in advance. Developed by Dr. Kashish Sadhwani and Prof T.I. Eldho, the technology identifies flood-risk areas with an accuracy rate exceeding 93% across a 55,000 square kilometer stretch of the South Indian coastline.
