Hyderabad electoral rolls could see 40% reduction after SIR exercise
The current Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists could lead to a 40% drop in the number of registered voters in Hyderabad. According to the latest status report on the SIR process, 58.89% of the required forms have been processed digitally. Out of the initial 47,36,669 voters listed before the revision started, 27,89,214 records have been digitised, indicating that approximately 19 lakh names could be struck off the electoral rolls.
