Honoring Sikh soldiers: How Italy's diaspora preserves wartime history
Since 2016, the Italy-based World Sikh Shaheed Military Memorial Committee has been working to locate and honor Sikh troops who lost their lives on Italian battlefields during the World Wars. Through collaboration with the Italian authorities, the organization has successfully identified and paid tribute to more than 2,000 fallen soldiers. Most recently, the committee unveiled a Khanda memorial wall in Forlì, close to Bologna, which displays the names and pictures of these brave men.
