Haryana IAS officer Pardeep Kumar held in Rs 657-crore bank fraud on retirement day
On Tuesday, the CBI took Haryana IAS officer Pardeep Kumar into custody on the very day he was set to retire. The arrest is linked to a reported Rs 657-crore fraud involving IDFC First Bank and AU Small Finance Bank. The agency stated that while Kumar served as member secretary, Rs 169 crore belonging to the Haryana State Pollution Control Board—intended for fixed deposits—was siphoned off. Officials noted that Kumar had been avoiding the investigation.
