At 19 years old, Harshita Jakhar has made history as the first Indian woman to participate in the Tour de France Femmes. The cyclist from Rajasthan achieved this milestone on Sunday by leading the pack during the ceremonial start of Stage 2 in Aigle, Switzerland. Jakhar was one of eight athletes chosen for the UCI World Cycling Talent Programme, and she successfully finished a 4.5-km neutralised ride just before the professional peloton took to the course.
