England captain Harry Kane is currently 10 goals shy of matching the all-time single-season record for club and country held by Argentina's Lionel Messi. During the 2011-2012 campaign, Messi netted 82 goals, while Kane has reached 72 goals in the 2025-2026 season thus far. Kane recently secured a brace during England's 2-1 victory against DR Congo in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32.
