Haridwar faces massive cleanup after Kanwar Yatra leaves 7000 tonnes of waste

Following the Kanwar Yatra, which saw approximately 5 crore devotees visit Haridwar, officials have begun the task of clearing the massive amount of litter remaining in the city. Municipal Corporation Town Commissioner Nandan Kumar stated that roughly 7000 tonnes of refuse accumulated over the span of two weeks. Cleanup efforts are also underway in local market areas. Footage captured sanitation staff clearing out bottles containing urine while working without protective gear like masks or gloves.
