Hangzhou introduces traffic-monitoring robots, though they lack arrest authority

In Hangzhou, a Chinese tech company called SUPCON Information has rolled out 15 mobile robots to monitor traffic and spot rule-breaking. These units utilize radar, cameras, and integrated computing to track various infractions, such as pedestrians ignoring signals, vehicles drifting over lines, e-bikes with extra passengers, and riders not wearing helmets. While these machines are not authorized to perform arrests, their presence has contributed to a drop in traffic violations of more than 40%.
