Gurugram service road collapses following intense downpour
Heavy rainfall led to a section of the service road at IFFCO Chowk in Gurugram giving way. Initial reports indicate that the collapse might have been triggered by a primary Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) sewer line located under that part of the road. Back in December, the GMDA had allegedly alerted the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) regarding the risk of a cave-in in the vicinity of the IFFCO flyover.
