Govt sets ₹300/day minimum rural wage as VB-G RAM G Act takes effect
Starting today (July 1), the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Act, 2025 has officially rolled out. Under this rural employment guarantee scheme, the government established a standard minimum wage of ₹300 per day for workers across the country. This brings the national average daily wage up to ₹327.4. Previously, no fixed minimum wages existed for these workers.
