Government slashes time limit for deleting illegal AI content to 3 hours

The government has tightened its rules to combat deepfakes created by AI. Following updates to the IT Rules in February, social media platforms are now required to take down illegal content within three hours of getting a legitimate court or government directive, down from the previous 36-hour window. Additionally, the new rules now require all AI-produced material to be clearly labelled.
