Government seeks to evict Delhi Gymkhana, labels it public land
The central government has initiated proceedings to remove the Delhi Gymkhana Club, asserting that its 27.3-acre site on Safdarjung Road is government-owned public property. Officials stated that the club’s lease ended in May, yet it has not vacated the premises. Consequently, an Estate Officer has served a show-cause notice, requiring the club to justify why it should not be formally evicted.
