Government report reveals gender wage gap of 24% for salaried roles and 31% for casual work

According to the 2025 Periodic Labour Force Survey, women in salaried or regular positions make an average of ₹18,353 monthly, while men in similar roles earn ₹24,217. This indicates a pay disparity of 24.2% between genders. For casual labour, women receive an average daily wage of ₹315, compared to ₹455 for men, resulting in a 30.8% difference in earnings.
