Government mulls reintroducing UPI transaction fees

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that MDR would enable these firms to increase investments in security, innovation, and infrastructure. She further emphasized that this charge would be levied exclusively on merchants, with no impact on individual users.
