Government hikes export taxes on petrol and diesel, reduces duty on jet fuel
Effective September 1, the central government has increased the windfall tax on petrol exports from zero to ₹1.5 per litre. Additionally, the export duty on diesel has been raised from ₹24 per litre to ₹25 per litre; this total includes ₹24 as a special additional excise duty and ₹1 as a road and infrastructure cess. Meanwhile, the tax on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) has been lowered by ₹0.5 per litre.
