Global tech sector sees over 6,000 job cuts in early September
According to NDTV Profit, more than 6,300 technology sector jobs were eliminated globally during the first week of September 2026. Companies such as Apple, Oracle, Zomato, PayPal, and Uber are listed among the businesses reducing their workforce. Reports indicate that Uber is letting go of approximately 3,300 staff members, and PayPal is set to reduce its headcount by about 220 employees across its Indian offices.
