French billionaire Xavier Niel is set to emerge as the primary shareholder of Vodafone Group following a deal to acquire a 16.2% stake in the UK-based telecom firm for approximately $6 billion, or nearly ₹57,000 crore. The shares will be bought by Vega, an investment firm owned by Niel's family, from the UAE's e& telecom group. This transaction is priced at a 13% premium compared to Vodafone's stock value at the close of trading on Thursday.
