Four individuals held for poaching sambar deer in Pathanamthitta, Kerala
Forest department authorities have taken four men into custody for the suspected poaching of a sambar deer and the subsequent sale of its meat in Pathanamthitta. The suspects, identified as Sunil Kumar CG, Anil Kumar CG, Abhilal Madhu, and Prashanth, were apprehended as they were reportedly getting ready for a fresh hunting expedition. During the operation, officials confiscated a jeep, a double-barrel firearm, and various other hunting tools. It is alleged that the group had been misusing a permit intended for shooting wild boars to target other wildlife. The case remains under active investigation.
