Former OpenAI researcher departs again to join Meta
According to an Axios report, Meta has recruited former OpenAI researcher Luke Metz to work at its Superintelligence Labs. This transition represents his third significant shift between top AI companies in less than two years. Prior to his 2022 stint at OpenAI, Metz spent six years at Google. He departed OpenAI in 2024 to work at Mira Murati’s new venture, Thinking Machines Lab, but returned to OpenAI earlier this year.
