Former National Award winner Shafiq now works as an auto driver
Shafiq Syed, the recipient of the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for his role in the Oscar-nominated movie 'Salaam Bombay!', is currently earning a living as an auto rickshaw driver in Bengaluru. Following his acclaimed performance, he had hoped for more acting roles, but those offers never materialized. He eventually moved away from Mumbai, went back to his home city, and started driving an auto to provide for his wife, mother, and four kids.
