Five players, including India's top-ranked woman, dropped from Asian Games tennis team
The Indian tennis team for the Asian Games has been cut from 12 members down to seven following a move by the Sports Ministry to remove five athletes previously picked by the All India Tennis Association. Among those left out are India’s top-ranked women’s singles player Sahaja Yamalapalli, as well as Manas Dhamne, Vaishnavi Adkar, Vaidehee Chaudhari, and Prarthana Thombare. This change means the Indian squad will now head to the games without several of its primary singles players.
