Filmmaker Shakeel Noorani held by Malvani Police for alleged sexual assault of actress

Mumbai’s Malvani Police have taken director Shakeel Noorani, famous for movies like Joru Ka Ghulam, into custody. The arrest follows a complaint from a 33-year-old actress who accused him of rape and sexual assault. The woman claims that Noorani drugged her and used a video to threaten her. She further alleged that he repeatedly used the footage to coerce her into sexual acts.
