FIDE suspends former world chess champion Kramnik for baseless cheating claims
The international chess federation, FIDE, has handed a minimum one-year ban to former world champion Vladimir Kramnik. The penalty follows his history of publicly accusing other players of cheating without providing any proof. These accusations targeted several Grandmasters, such as David Navara and the late Daniel Naroditsky. According to FIDE, Kramnik’s actions breached their policies regarding bullying, online harassment, and making unfounded claims.
