FCI officials booked in ₹29-crore Delhi scam over diversion of subsidised rice
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has booked eight individuals, including officers from the Food Corporation of India (FCI) and the North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation Ltd. This action comes in connection with an alleged ₹28.87 crore scam involving the diversion of subsidised rice in Delhi. Although the grain was intended for distribution to labourers, it was reportedly sold to traders instead. Rather than reaching the targeted vulnerable groups, the rice was directly collected by merchants from FCI depots.
