FBI data shows spike in anti-Sikh and anti-Hindu hate crimes in US
According to new FBI figures, hate crimes targeting Sikhs and Hindus in the United States grew in 2025, even as the total number of hate-crime reports across the country dropped. While overall incidents decreased by 7%—falling from 11,404 in 2024 to 10,606 in 2025—specific bias-motivated crimes saw an uptick. Anti-Sikh attacks climbed by more than 24%, rising from roughly 152 to 189, and anti-Hindu incidents grew by 28%, going from about 25 to 32.
