FAA restores Boeing's power to certify 737 MAX and 787 jets
Starting next week, the Federal Aviation Administration is granting Boeing the ability to once again issue airworthiness certificates for its 737 MAX and 787 models. This move comes after the agency conducted several months of quality and safety assessments. The FAA previously stripped Boeing of its certification authority for MAX planes in 2019 following two deadly accidents, and later did the same for 787s in 2022 because of manufacturing quality concerns.
