Extreme heat leads to ammunition blasts at Iraqi military facility
The Iraqi Defence Ministry reported that intense heat sparked a fire at an arms depot within Camp Taji, a key military installation situated north of Baghdad, on Sunday. The ministry stated that the facility housed munitions for the 9th armoured division and that some of these items exploded because of the high temperatures. This base formerly accommodated soldiers from the international coalition led by the US that fought against the Islamic State.
