EU court upholds Google's $4.7 billion antitrust penalty
On Thursday, a court in the European Union rejected Google's appeal against a massive €4.1 billion ($4.7 billion) penalty related to claims of anti-competitive behavior. The EU originally issued the fine in 2018, stating that the tech giant misused its market power by requiring smartphone makers to bundle Google apps on Android handsets. To date, Google has been hit with roughly $12.5 billion in total antitrust fines from the EU.
