Elusive Himalayan flower rediscovered in Arunachal following 158-year gap

A scarce purple-petaled plant known as Cyananthus hookeri has been found in the Chuna Valley of Arunachal Pradesh, marking its first sighting in 158 years. The flower was discovered thriving at an elevation of nearly 3,600 metres, a harsh environment where few plants can grow. It had not been documented since it was last seen in Sikkim back in 1867. This event represents the initial verified report of this specific species within Arunachal Pradesh.
