Dropbox reports 5,000 accounts accessed via Lenovo login vulnerability

Dropbox announced that approximately 5,000 user accounts were impacted by a security breach in August, which stemmed from a vulnerability involving the integration between Dropbox and Lenovo ID. Attackers exploited the system to register Lenovo IDs using third-party email addresses, allowing them to bypass password requirements to enter Dropbox accounts, where they could view and download stored files. In response, Dropbox has disconnected all existing links between Lenovo IDs and its platform.
