DMK approaches Supreme Court to compel Karnataka to release Cauvery water

The DMK has filed a petition in the Supreme Court, requesting an order for Karnataka to promptly release Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu, as mandated by the Cauvery Water Management Authority. The authority had previously instructed Karnataka to provide 3,500 cusecs of water every day for a 15-day period at the Biligundlu inter-state border. The legal plea was submitted by Thiru Vijayan, a farmer who has been impacted by the failure to release the water.
