Delhi Police to gain authority to issue traffic violation fines
Officers stationed at various Delhi Police units and stations will shortly have the power to penalize traffic offenders. Personnel will be authorized to take pictures of vehicles breaking traffic laws and submit the information via the e-challan application. Following this, a formal notice will be sent to the registered owner of the vehicle. At present, officers are required to coordinate with the traffic police department to process such fines.
