Delhi Police informs SC: 5,000 officers handled 30,000 protesters on July 20 without using excessive force
The Delhi Police has informed the Supreme Court that they did not employ excessive force while dealing with student demonstrators during the July 20 march to Parliament, which lacked official authorization. According to the police, approximately 5,000 personnel were deployed to manage a crowd of over 30,000 people. The incident resulted in injuries to more than 240 police officers and roughly 200 protesters. Authorities stated that force was only utilized after protesters broke through barricades and initiated violent actions.
