Delhi plans new rules for PGs, including rent caps and mandatory security
The Delhi government is working on a new policy to oversee paying guest (PG) facilities, aiming to improve safety and standardize rental costs. Under these rules, PG owners will be required to obtain operating licences, complete municipal verification, and install CCTV cameras. For establishments hosting 15 or more students, hiring licensed security guards for night shifts will be mandatory. Additionally, the policy suggests implementing visitor logs, appointing wardens, and setting rent limits according to the specific area.
