Delhi PG building collapse: How basement renovation led to the tragedy
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta confirmed that the fatal collapse of a 50-year-old PG building in Satya Niketan was triggered by water buildup in the basement and ongoing repair work on the old structure. The owners were attempting to add more rental units in the basement area. During these renovations, a support pillar turned unstable, which compromised the building's integrity and resulted in a collapse that claimed six lives.
