Delhi HC rejects plea for DU college hostels following PG building collapse
The Delhi High Court refused to grant an urgent hearing for a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that demanded hostels in every Delhi University (DU) college. The court remarked to the petitioner, "You are wasting your own time unnecessarily." This legal petition was submitted by NSUI president Vinod Jakhar in the wake of a PG building collapse in Satya Niketan, located near the university's South Campus, which resulted in seven deaths. The case is scheduled for a hearing this Wednesday.
