Delhi HC holds MCD and DU accountable for building collapse, demands safety audits
The Delhi High Court has sent notices to the Centre, the Delhi government, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), and Delhi University (DU) regarding a building collapse that resulted in seven deaths. The court stated that both the MCD and DU share responsibility for the incident. Furthermore, the court has directed the MCD to conduct audits of all hostels and PG accommodations in the vicinity to verify if they were built with the necessary legal approvals.
