Delhi greenlights removal of 1,091 trees for Sarojini Nagar redevelopment

The Delhi Forest Department has granted permission to cut down or relocate 1,091 trees at the GPRA Colony in Sarojini Nagar to facilitate the NBCC redevelopment initiative. Following several rounds of review and a site visit by the CEC, the original figure of 1,218 trees was lowered. As part of the compensatory measures, 10,910 new saplings will be planted at Bharat Vandana Park in Dwarka, supported by a security deposit of Rs 6.2 crore.
